Accountant
As an Accountant with HVMG, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the financial health of our hotel operations—ensuring our teams can provide exceptional experiences to every guest. This role will involve supporting one or more Regional Controllers in the preparation, review and distribution of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile assigned monthly bank account and balance sheet accounts for any assigned ledger accounts / properties / entities to ensure accurately completed, fully supported, and post adjusting entries in a timely manner.
- Review credit card fees and bank fees for reasonableness. Review credit card chargebacks for reasonableness and property follow up.
- Review and research any accounting entries or results that appear inaccurate, unexplainable, or that create significant variance with planned or historical results.
- Review and process accounts payable for accuracy, coding, and approval.
- Responsible for stop payment requests, payment and wire verification. Assist treasurer with moving from manual to digital payments.
- Prepare all operational tax returns for the hospitality operations within their portfolio; Sales, Use, Transient Occupancy, Telecommunications, etc; Implement annual property review procedure with GM’s to assure proper front office and POS system collections for sales and occupancy taxes.
- Assist with monthly financial statements preparation for any assigned properties.
Education & Experience
A college degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.1-2 Years related experience, preferable in the hotel industry, required.Multi-Unit Hotel and / or Restaurant Experience, Highly preferred.Experience with SageIntacct, PlateIQ or similar Accounting or A / P Systems, Highly Preferred.What You’ll Need to Succeed
