Our client is an Global Industrials Wholesale / Distribution Firm looking for a Senior Purchasing manager to join their team and Lead a Purchasing Team. This will report to the Head of Operations Team working closely with COO of the company.
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to oversee all purchasing for multiple operating businesses. This pivotal role involves developing effective sourcing strategies, negotiating costs, and continuously improving supply chain efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Business Development, Demand Planning, and Operations teams to ensure seamless support for both consumer and professional customer programs. The ideal candidate blends strategic sourcing expertise with strong analytical and negotiation skills to drive profitability and performance.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Strategic Sourcing & Planning : Develop and maintain sourcing processes for new materials, analyze market conditions and supply trends, and proactively manage supply chain risks.
- Vendor Management & Negotiation : Build and manage strong supplier relationships. Negotiate purchasing agreements, pricing, and contracts to meet business objectives and drive cost savings. Resolve vendor grievances and claims.
- Procurement & Inventory Control : Purchase all necessary services, materials, and operating supplies. Manage material flow to optimize inventory levels, support on-time deliveries, and work within approved budgets. Confirm and expedite material orders as needed.
- Leadership & Coordination : Direct and coordinate the daily activities of purchasing personnel involved in material acquisition and distribution.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Establish and track measurable performance metrics for all procurement activities (supplier performance, quality, order placement). Prepare reports on market conditions and costs.
- Compliance & Finance Coordination : Obtain necessary material specifications and safety data sheets. Coordinate with the Finance team on budgeting, cost forecasting, and savings tracking. Develop and oversee inventory cycle count plans.
