Role Summary As an Estimator at Northstar Construction, you’ll prepare accurate, timely, and strategic cost estimates for commercial projects, including new construction, renovations, and tenant improvements. You’ll collaborate across teams to align budgets with scope, guide clients with clarity, and ensure our pursuit efforts reflect both quality and care. This role requires technical expertise, curiosity, and a deep respect for process. But just as importantly, it requires someone who cares about people—clients, teammates, and trade partners alike. What You'll Do Deliver with Excellence Perform complete and detailed take-offs across all scopes and trades. Develop clear, accurate, and competitive estimates using up-to-date cost data and market conditions. Identify inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions to ensure aligned expectations. Submit complete bid packages on time, in accordance with client and company requirements. Promote Growth Stay informed on construction methods, costs, and market trends. Seek ways to improve accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness in the estimating process. Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of learning and professional development. Work in Unity Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and leadership to align on strategy and approach. Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to clarify scope and resolve questions. Gather and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure coverage, scope alignment, and pricing competitiveness. What You’ll Bring 3–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience. Strong understanding of building systems, sequences, and construction methodologies. Relevant Experience in the field or bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field Proficiency with estimating tools such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
