Position Overview
This role is for a skilled Registered Nurse at the Clinical Nurse II level, specializing in telemetry and progressive care. The nurse will be an essential member of the cardiac monitoring team, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with advanced clinical expertise. This position requires autonomy, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and a commitment to patient safety and excellent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care : Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac observation, perform detailed assessments, respond to acute cardiac and neurological changes, administer medications including non-titratable drips, and develop individualized care plans. Act as a patient advocate, providing education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Safety and Compliance : Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhere to infection control protocols, comply with regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and OSHA, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Documentation : Accurately document all patient care activities and responses in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) following established standards.
- Professional Development and Leadership : Mentor new nurses and students, engage in continuing education, serve as a resource for telemetry best practices, and act as Relief Charge Nurse when needed.
- Emergency Preparedness : Respond promptly and effectively to cardiac emergencies, utilizing advanced clinical skills.
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum two years as a Registered Nurse in telemetry or equivalent intermediate care settings. Transitional RN candidates with two years acute care experience are also considered.Proficient in post-procedure care including cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and post-CABG monitoring.Strong skills in ECG / EKG interpretation and arrhythmia management.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring quick decision-making and teamwork.Competencies

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with five years telemetry nursing experience may be considered.Licenses and Certifications
Current Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required for progressive care unit; transitional RNs must obtain within six months.Preferred : Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) or Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN Adult) or equivalent.Successful candidates must pass physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
