Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer - Data Center Systems to join our Data Center Engineering team. The engineer will serve as the primary systems partner for Data Center Operations, Infrastructure, and Facilities teams, ensuring seamless lifecycle management of data center assets and supporting construction, build-out, and commissioning workflows.

This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills who can work independently without heavy oversight.
Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary systems partner for Data Center Operations, Infrastructure, and Facilities.
• Own and manage tools supporting the entire data center asset lifecycle - from racking and provisioning to decommissioning.
• Configure and administer DCIM systems (Sunbird, Nlyte, Netbox) and IT asset management platforms.
• Support construction/build-out project management tools (Procore or similar) for data center commissioning workflows.
• Develop and maintain runbooks/workflows for rack deployment, infrastructure onboarding, and asset readiness.
• Build internal tools, scripts, reports, and dashboards to track data center status, milestones, and capacity.
• Integrate build-out and commissioning workflows with ongoing operational systems (DCIM, asset registry).
• Partner with Security & Compliance teams to ensure traceability, access control, and audit readiness.
• Support reporting, dashboards, and alerting for operations, capacity management, and project handoffs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, Ops, Finance, Supply Chain, IT) to streamline data center operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data center systems, infrastructure operations, or IT systems automation.
• Strong knowledge of data center workflows including rack deployment, provisioning, and asset tracking.
• Hands-on experience with DCIM or asset management platforms (Sunbird, Nlyte, Netbox).
• Proven ability to build custom apps, APIs, and scripts (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, etc.).
• Familiarity with data center build-out workflows and commissioning milestones.
• Understanding of asset handoff workflows from construction to operations.
• Knowledge of power & cooling infrastructure, structured cabling, and telemetry systems.
• Exposure to audit & compliance requirements for infrastructure traceability.
• Experience supporting global or multi-site data center environments.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Procore, Primavera, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Prior experience integrating construction systems with operational DCIM platforms.
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
