Overview
Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Assistant Manager to join our in-house Optical team. You will lead the store’s Opticians, consult with customers as needed, and coach the team to deliver exceptional eyewear experiences. Our ideal candidate is a lifelong learner who fosters an encouraging work environment and helps Warby Parker grow.
What you’ll do
Optical duties
- Work directly with customers to help meet all of their eyewear needs
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracy
- Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
Leadership responsibilities
Report to the Store Leader, help anticipate staffing needs, and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participantsManage a team of Opticians by giving and receiving feedback, conducting development conversations, and leading by example on the floorUphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs to increase customer loyalty and engagementStay up to date with HR policies to promote a productive, safe store culture and leverage resources to boost engagement and job satisfactionSupport general store systems, inventory databases, and business operationsWho you are
A licensed dispensing optician in licensing states (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states) with 2+ years in a management positionA strong leader and mentor who drives optical metrics and adheres to strict optical standardsProfessional and open-minded when making decisions for the teamPassionate about eyewear and retailClear and effective communicator who can simplify technical terms for customersDedicated to going above and beyond to make customers and teammates happyDetail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentSomeone who takes work seriously, but not themselvesNot on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals / Entities (LEIE)Benefits for full-time employees
