Merchandiser/Inside Sales Associate

Hammond Lumber Company, voted 2025's Best Places to Work in Maine, is seeking a full-time merchandiser/inside sales associate for our Old Town, Maine location.

Job Responsibilities

1. Maintains and stocks retail store as assigned
2. Performs inventory cycle counts and maintains adequate inventory levels
3. Provides support for sales force which can include but is not limited to mixing paint, picking stock orders, etc.
4. Dusts shelves and performs basic housekeeping functions such as trash removal, sweeping or vacuuming
5. Places orders with Emery Waterhouse and other vendors as needed
6. Responsible for waiting on customers in person, on the phone and via email
7. Processes orders and quotes for building materials requested by customers as needed
8. Position requires heavy lifting

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service preferred
• Previous inventory control or warehouse experience preferred
• Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
