Job Title : Material Handler

Job Description

A Material Handler carefully counts and verifies the identity and quantity of all materials processed, ensuring that all materials are stored in the correct locations. This role also involves maintaining inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Move raw material parts in and out of the system (QAD, Eagle, KBM).
• Count and verify the identity and quantity of all materials pulled with high accuracy.
• Ensure materials are stored in the correct locations.
• Perform cycle counts of parts in selected locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Notify Group Leader of any part shortages or part damages.
• Perform basic data entry using the MRP computer system.
• Operate weigh scales, hydraulic pallet jacks, and drive forklifts.
• Inspect materials and completed work for correctness and quality.
• Ensure proper material component identification.
• Determine corrective measures necessary to make products acceptable.
• Complete daily records and forms related to quality and work performed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times.
• Complete daily area clean-up at the end of the shift.
• Engage in cross-training activities and substitute at any assembly work station within the department.
• Provide 3Q6S (housekeeping activities) during material handling inactivity.
• Return all equipment, materials, and supplies to their designated places when not in use.

Work Environment

The St. Charles location spans over 350,000 square feet with approximately 250 employees between production and the warehouse. The facility is an electronic automotive manufacturer that supplies OEM electronic parts to major automotive manufacturers, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, and Hyundai. The parts manufactured include power window switches, push-to-start buttons, power seat controls, and car entertainment consoles with AC / Heat controls. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 2 : 30 PM. The departments do not require adherence to GMP protocol, and employees are not required to wear gowns, hair nets, or shoe slip-ons. However, candidates working in shipping, receiving, or materials management must wear steel toe shoes. Both production and warehouse areas are clean, organized, and climate-controlled, resembling a hospital environment with everything sterile and meticulously organized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25 / hr.
