Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : Day shift, Saturday only (06 : 30 - 15 : 00)

Shift Duration : 8 hours

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,640 - $1,770

Setting : Hospital Laboratory – clinical support role

Medical Laboratory Scientist Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required (first-time travelers welcome)

ASCP certification required; ASCP-MLS and BLS preferred

Blood bank experience required

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Ability to function as a generalist in laboratory medicine (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, etc.)

Active Maryland or Compact medical laboratory license required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Two satisfactory professional references required

Must reside at least 50 miles from the Baltimore facility

Medical Laboratory Scientist Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, specimen collection, and analysis

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation

Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling

Conduct quality assurance and control procedures

Report and interpret laboratory test results promptly

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care

Maintain compliance with safety and infection control protocols

Float within the hospital laboratory as needed
