SweeT & SaltY's | Great Cookie Caper in Valley Cottage, NY is looking for a baker to join our team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and reliable. Fun, friendly personalities tend to do best in our environment.

PART TIME (15-20 hours per week) more during the holidays

Currently seeking a baker who, with guidance and supervision from us, can take over the day-to-day in our back of house.

MUST HAVE :

  • Knowledge of the cookie dough mixing process is an ABSOLUTE MUST.
  • An outgoing personality - each employee is required to engage with the customer.
  • Food handling experience is necessary. (ServSafe or Food Handler’s License a plus)
  • Understanding of FIFO and other food safety and sanitation elements.
  • Good work ethic, time management skills, patience and enjoy creating efficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

We use many professional pastry chef techniques in making our cookies however, you do not need to be a professional baker to success in this position. We are willing to train the right personality.

Please know our current focus is on COOKIES - if you want to bake other items this is not the position for you.

Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to :

  • Learn our cookie flavors and names and tell everyone you know about them!
  • Follow recipes with respect for our product and use the same love we put into each cookie.
  • Scale / Weigh ingredients for recipes
  • Mix dough in a large mixer
  • Delegate tasks to Bakery Assistants
  • Properly assemble flavors and store appropriately
  • Report purchasing needs to management
  • Prepare and maintain inventory
  • Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment

    • Qualifications

  • Attention to detail in all aspects of baking
  • Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
  • Experience as a Baker a plus
