Job Description

As a Lead Multimedia Content Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and brand of our educational content. Your work will directly impact the quality and effectiveness of our learning materials, ensuring they are engaging, accessible, and aligned with WGU's mission of student success.

What You'll Do In this role, you will lead the design and development of multimedia content for product health and interventions. You will create and review visual designs, ensuring they meet brand standards and project requirements. You will consult on course design and provide expertise in visual storytelling and multimedia production. Additionally, you will resource and distribute designers to various projects, ensuring optimal team performance. You will take on intervention work and test new features to enhance our educational offerings. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality multimedia content will be essential. You will also support upcoming sprints and larger initiatives with innovative design solutions.

What You'll Bring

• To be successful in this role, you should have 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a master's degree, or a doctorate with 2+ years of experience.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your multimedia design work is essential.
• Proficiency in a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Articulate 360, h5p, Adobe Acrobat, Open EdX, Learnosity, and the ability to quickly learn proprietary tools is required.
• Familiarity with web accessibility standards, including alternate text, color contrast, multiple means of representation, and keyboard controls is important.
• Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with learning and performance solutions teams are necessary.
• Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models is beneficial.
• The ability to create graphics and assets for digital, print, and motion graphics is required. Experience working within a brand system across multiple channels is also important.
