Overview

Softtek Government Solutions is seeking to add a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to our team. This person will have responsibilities in supporting planning, delivering, and implementing high-priority strategic projects that advance both business unit and business segment strategies. The role will report directly to the Sr. Director, Operations and Delivery.

In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support leadership-level strategic decision-making by conducting projects related to the identification of strategic needs as it relates to the pursuit of building new and strengthening existing business endeavors. A successful candidate will enjoy working independently in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves analyzing data from current IT systems and databases, identifying and producing data analyses, statistics, data trends, areas for improvement, and recommending solutions that align with the company's overall business goals. The role may require using business intelligence (BI) reporting tools to analyzing existing reports and/or creating custom reports, ad hoc queries, dashboards, and other analytical work products. Responsibilities include identifying and analyzing existing enterprise data sources, data dictionaries, data models, data definitions, data flows, data integrations, etc. This individual has a strong ability to formulate strategic solutions leveraging data programming languages and visualization tools. You will take complex challenges and develop actionable insights that will produce tangible benefits.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on analysis of high volume of IT systems operational data to identify patterns, trends, and insights
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
• Collaborate with business stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver impactful analytical solutions
• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable insights to support strategic and operational decisions
• Develop complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources for reporting and analysis
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability by implementing data quality checks and validation processes.
• Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and work with data engineering teams to resolve issues
• Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and data interpretation
• Stay current with industry best practices in business intelligence, data visualization, and data warehousing
• Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure data integrity and compliance

Required Experience:

• BS/MS degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in IT or a related field
• Extensive experience with at least one leading BI tool (e.g., Splunk, Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for dashboard and report development
• Expert user of Microsoft Excel for data analysis
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
• Experience applying data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
• Residing close to the client site in Washington, DC Metro area
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required Clearance

• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
• US citizenship

Desired Experience

• Work experience for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts.
• Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
