JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our team supporting the SPY-6 Family of Radars. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT systems that support this critical radar technology. This role requires expertise in networking, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and troubleshooting, as well as a strong commitment to ensuring system security and availability. This position also requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support mission-critical operations.What are the main functions of this role? Administer and maintain systems supporting the SPY-6 radar family, ensuring optimal performance and availability.Perform system troubleshooting and resolve hardware, software, and network issues as they arise.Conduct regular system monitoring, patch management, and performance tuning.Maintain and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and troubleshoot radar system components.Implement and maintain system security measures in accordance with DoD standards and protocols.Support network configurations, including IP address management, VLAN configurations, and Layer 3 Switches management.Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.Travel up to 25% of the time to domestic locations to support system installations, maintenance, and operational needs.Desired Skill Sets : Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) or military environment.Familiarity with radar systems or other defense-related technologies.Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).Experience with configuring and managing firewalls and intrusion detection systems.Experience with PowerShell, Bash and / or Python scriptingFamiliarity with version control and collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, ClearCase)Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities
