DESCRIPTION

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine is a diverse patient, research, education, and academia focused, high-performing Department with a commitment to quality, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Orthopedic Surgery provides treatment for disorders of the musculoskeletal system, offering comprehensive and innovative services.

The Department offers a full spectrum of musculoskeletal clinical care, specializing in foot and ankle, hand and microvascular surgery, joint reconstruction, physical medicine and rehabilitation, spine, sports medicine, orthopedic oncology, and trauma. Research expertise includes advancements in muscle metabolism and physiology, neuromuscular bioengineering, intervertebral disc, and musculoskeletal physiology and epidemiology. The Department supports an ACGME accredited residency program and fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery, as well as fellowship programs in joint reconstruction, spine, and trauma.

Under the supervision of the administrative director of orthopedic surgery, the incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance for patients and families as they navigate through the complex healthcare environment within the UCSD spine service lines. They will provide individualized support throughout clinic visits and / or hospital stays. They will develop expertise in the spine division clinical operations and systems and resolve issues across departments.

They will identify patient needs, coordinate appointments, connect patients to services according to their individual situation. They will use their knowledge of unit operations to propose improvements to patient satisfaction. They will also participate in research initiatives designed to evaluate the impact of navigation infrastructure on patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional Customer Service skills

Annual Full Pay Range : $53,515 - $77,987 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $25.63 - $37.35
