HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Regional is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Hermitage, Tennessee.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit
  • Discipline : RN
  • Duration : 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift : 12 hours, nights
  • Employment Type : Local Contract

Unit Specifics :

  • Number of Beds : 630 has 34 beds / 633 has 25
  • Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633
  • Type of equipment : bipaps, high flow o2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis. Wound vacs in conjunction with wound care
  • Documentation system : Meditech
  • Scheduling requirements : every other weekend requirement for contract, 3 12 hour shifts a week
  • Floating policy : may have to float in between PCU units or float to med-surg floors
  • Patient Experience requirements : hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET and keeping up with communication boards on 7th floor. Dept 633 has tv communication boards.

    • Hospital Specifics-

  • Certifications : BLS, ACLS

    • Must have : Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred and peripheral iv skills.

    Advanced skills needed : ACLS. Experience with bipaps, high flow 02 and multiple oxygen delivery systems. Experience with stroke and post cardiac cath care. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred. Experience with tube feedings and NG / dobhoff tubes.

    Procedures performed on unit : Peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff / NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes. Trouble shooting wound vacs

    Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS
