This is a hybrid position required to be working in our Herndon VA office at least 2 days a week.

What Its Like

At T-Mobile Secure Federal Operations (TSFO) we focus on developing innovative solutions for sensitive customers within the U.S. Government. The TSFO Finance and Accounting team provides organizational support for all financial activities. These activities include but are not limited to analyzing financial data performing monthly general ledger close preparing financial statements budgeting and forecasting pricing negotiations and supporting accounts payable activities.

What Youll Do

TSFO offers a fast-paced environment that will grow your finance and leadership skills as you help craft our success. You will work across the different functions at TSFO and make a difference in how we do business. The intern will have the opportunity to learn various accounting processes supporting U.S. Government programs and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of financial reports statements and supporting documentation. Support budgeting forecasting and variance analysis to help inform business decisions. Maintain and update financial records spreadsheets and internal accounting systems. Participate in month-end close processes including reconciliations and journal entries. Develop cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams to support new deals and existing projects.

What It Takes

Currently enrolled in a BS / BA program in Accounting Finance Business Administration Economics or a similar field.

Interest in a career in telecommunications law or Government.

Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Outstanding data analysis organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.

Self-Starter : Takes initiative and drives projects forward with minimal supervision proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and action.

Teamwork : Collaborates effectively with peers and across teams to achieve shared goals / outcomes fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

Strong Communication Skills : Communicates with clarity confidence and professionalism.

Works Well Independently : Demonstrates strong ownership and follow-through effectively managing priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Critical Thinking : Applies sound judgment and analytical reasoning to evaluate information solve complex problems and make informed decisions.

At least 18 years of age

High School Diploma or GED

Must be actively enrolled in a degree program

Legally authorized to work in the United States

US Citizenship (without dual citizenship) required

Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Security Clearance if converted to a full-time position following the internship

Ability to pass pre-employment drug test

Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Summer Internships.

Intern wages range from $20 / hour to $40 / hour. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on experience / location.

T-Mobile requires U.S. citizenship for certain roles within the organization. This role requires U.S. citizenship. Individuals hired into this role will be required to submit documentation proving U.S. citizenship within the first 7 days of hire - failure to do so will result in termination.
