Luna Data Solutions is seeking an experienced Mainframe Top Secret Security Administrator for a 100% remote long term contract opportunity.

  • Remote from anywhere in the USA
  • Option for three one-year renewals

W2 Rate ($75-95 / hr DOE)

This senior-level role requires deep expertise in Mainframe Security and z / OS Administration to ensure data integrity, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject-matter expert in Mainframe Top Secret Security Administration.
  • Manage and maintain z / OS operating systems, including planning, implementation, and testing of upgrades and changes.
  • Oversee day-to-day mainframe operations : configuration, troubleshooting, user account management.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, perform certificate renewals, and manage access controls.
  • Monitor system performance and security; perform routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Network Administration, Customer Support, and Application Development teams.
  • Provide support for Mainframe Production Control, job scheduling, and ISV products (e.g., BlueZone).
  • Diagnose and resolve platform and software issues with root cause analysis.

    • Experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration for Change Data Capture (IMS and VSAM) is a plus.

    Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Top Secret Security (TSS).
  • 5+ years of experience with z / OS Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience with JES2, z / OS Unix System Services (OMVS), and Storage Management Subsystem (SMS).

    • 3+ years of experience with TLS configuration (certificates, SSL – RSA Keys, SFTP, FTPS).

    Preferred Skills

  • Experience with REXX scripting.
  • Performance monitoring and analysis.
  • Informatica Power Exchange Administration.
  • Working knowledge of :
  • z / OS Operation and Networking (VTAM, TCP / IP)
  • Automated job scheduling (JOBTRAC)
  • Terminal Emulator Software (BlueZone)
  • VTAM Session Manager (VTAM / SWITCH)
  • SMP / E, RMF, SMF, WLM
  • JCL, GRS, VSAM, TSO
