About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Technologist

Experience : Minimum 1 Year

License : Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C)

Certifications : Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 30 days of employment start date.

Must-Have :

Experience with cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and da Vinci-assisted thoracoscopy.

Description :

The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during heart surgical procedures.

The surgical technologist understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.

The surgical technologist has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure.

Maintaining the sterile field is a critical responsibility.

In the second scrub role, the surgical technologist assists the surgeon and / or surgical assistant during the operative procedure.

Tasks may include sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera.

The unit performs various procedures including cardiac, general, vascular, neuro, spine, trauma, orthopedic, burn, ENT, transplant, and robotic surgeries.

The candidate must be competent to perform as lead in all specialty areas required.

Two years of prior experience in a similar sized facility with comparable services is necessary.
