FlexStaff is seeking a Temporary Payroll & Benefits Specialist for our client, located in Suffolk County. This role will provide critical support to the HR team during a high-volume period with focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee support to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
Key Details :
- Hours : Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Some flexibility may be required during peak periods.
- Hybrid schedule, Mondays and Fridays remote, Tuesdays-Thursdays in the office located near E. Islip
- Pay Rate : $31-$34 / hr
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including data entry, auditing, and issue resolution.Validate benefit deductions and ensure accurate payroll integration.Support benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, and life event changes.Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, benefits, and leave programs.Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain data accuracy and compliance.Maintain employee records and ensure documentation is up to date for compliance.Generate reports and assist with census files and open enrollment data.Support ad hoc HR projects and reporting needs as assigned.Provide general administrative support to the HR Operations team.Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive data.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Familiarity with payroll systems and HRIS platformsUnderstanding of FLSA, ACA, and other relevant regulations.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or related field.2-4 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Workday preferred).Strong Proficiency in Microsoft ExcelAdditional Salary DetailThe salary range and / or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
