Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Manager | Hybrid | Chicago, IL

Are you a tax professional with a strong foundation in corporate tax and experience in transactional tax advisory ? We’re seeking a Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Specialist to join a high-impact team supporting strategic initiatives across acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and investments.

This hybrid role is ideal for someone coming from a Big 4 public accounting background , looking to transition into an in-house position where they can apply their technical expertise and broaden their exposure to corporate strategy, tax planning, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Manager, you’ll lead due diligence and integration efforts for M&A transactions.
  • Support ASC 740 income tax reporting and financial disclosures.
  • Research and interpret domestic and international tax law changes.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and senior tax leadership to assess risk and identify planning opportunities.
  • Develop and refine processes to ensure compliance and capture efficiencies.

What We’re Looking For in a M&A Tax Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 6+ years of corporate income tax experience.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Experience in public accounting, ideally with a Big 4 firm.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and leadership levels.

    Competitive compensation : $135,000 – $160,000 , plus comprehensive benefits and bonus
