[job_card.job_description]High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment Familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
Phlebotomist I - Laboratory Medicine
Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Phlebotomist I to join our Laboratory Medicine team on a per diem basis. As a Phlebotomist I, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare system by collecting and processing blood samples for diagnostic testing. This position is located in Palm Bay, Florida in beautiful Brevard County.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages
- Properly label and process blood samples for testing
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimens collected
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
