TRT050 Transportation Tech 1 - Construction Technician

JOB SUMMARY :   Under direct supervision, provides entry level technical support in one or more of the following areas : OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES : Under direct supervision, provide entry-level technical support in one or more of the following areas : Maintenance, Construction, Intermodal, Planning, Utilities, Surveying, Environmental or Traffic. Selected applicant will be required to take the Construction Technician test administered by the GA Dept. of Transportation

STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or GED

AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to learn to perform routine support duties for assigned program area (i.e. construction, surveying, traffic operations, lab testing or data collection).
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment and / or instruments as required.
  • Ability to assist in data gathering or collect data as requested.
  • Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly.
  • Demonstrates basic math skills (percentages, area of a triangle, trapezoid or circle, volume of a cylinder, rectangular prism, and unit conversions).
  • Commitment to providing quality customer service.
