Join our dedicated team in the General Pediatrics Office, where you will play an essential role in providing exceptional care to our young patients. Under the guidance of our practice physician and / or advanced practice provider (APP), and under the supervision of the Nurse Manager (RN) or Nurse Supervisor (RN), you will deliver direct patient care as well as conduct patient triage both in-person and via telephone. Your contributions will directly impact the planning, directing, and evaluation of personalized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs; notify the physician of any abnormal results.
- Collect and document comprehensive patient histories along with focused physical assessments as per clinic protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments under the direction of a physician or APP.
- Assist in in-office procedures relevant to the clinic specialty, documenting results accurately in the Electronic Health Record.
- Review and triage incoming test results, patient requests, and pharmacy renewals; initiate call-backs as needed.
- Facilitate resource utilization to achieve positive patient outcomes and contribute to quality metrics.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and / or MAs based on their licensure.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies.
- Provide orientation and training for newly hired staff members.
- Engage in continuous education to uphold and enhance specialty knowledge.
- Educate patients on health and wellness related to their visit and overall care.
Minimum Qualifications :
Associate's degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program.Current NYS RN licensure required.Active CPR certification.Specialty certification in an ambulatory setting preferred.Exceptional customer service and communication skills.Able to effectively present information and address inquiries from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is preferred.Ability to administer medications via various routes and calculate medication dosages.Thank you for considering a career at Albany Medical Center!
