Development Assistant
The Development Assistant provides essential administrative, operational, and coordination support to the Vice President of Resource Development and the broader Resource Development team. This part-time role plays a critical behind-the-scenes function in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the department, supporting fundraising activities, donor engagement efforts, and internal team workflows.
Approximately half of the role is dedicated to supporting the Vice President of Resource Development through executive-level administrative support, including comprehensive executive calendar management; scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings, one-on-one meetings, and donor and partner visits; resolving scheduling conflicts; and proactively protecting focused work blocks to align with weekly priorities and support effective time management.
The remaining time supports the Resource Development team with shared calendar coordination, internal communications, donor acknowledgment preparation, database support, expense tracking, and general development operations. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. One (1) year or more of administrative or office support experience, including calendar management, scheduling, and coordination of meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a nonprofit, fundraising, or donor relations environment, with exposure to development or advancement operations. Experience working with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge) and supporting basic administrative or accounting tasks, such as expense reports and invoice tracking. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and support multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including attention to grammar, clarity, and professional tone. High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling data entry, scheduling, and administrative documentation. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented department. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability, including the ability to manage scheduling conflicts, shifting priorities, and urgent requests. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software tools used for scheduling, communication, and document management.
In-Office and Remote Work
This position works primarily at the Program Support Center but may occasionally work from other Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver facilities as necessary. All remote work and other flexible work arrangements must be approved prior to implementation.
