1. Customer Interaction:

   • Asking follow-up questions to help diagnose issues.
   • Answering phone calls and addressing customer inquiries.

2. Data Management:

   • Entering customer information into a database.
   • Tracking the progress of each job.

3. Estimating and Communication:

   • Compiling work estimates and communicating them to the customer.
   • Answering customers’ questions regarding the nature of repairs and their costs.

4. Billing and Payments:

   • Billing the customer or accepting payment when the job is complete.

5. Parts and Workflow Management:

   • Ordering parts as needed for repairs.
   • Managing technician job flow to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

As the first and last team member customers interact with, the Automotive Service Writer plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing a positive and efficient experience.
