The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities
Directs and supervises staff and resources to ensure efficient and effective operations of interoperability and document management systems. Plans, develops, and directs enterprise-wide activities associated with the implementation, maintenance, and strategic enhancement of OnBase and RightFax as enterprise systems. Oversees interoperability with Care Everywhere and connectivity to HIEs (ex, RRHIO, TEFCA, CareQuality, eHealth Exchange) using HL7 and FHIR standards. Oversees the archive of clinical data into archival solutions to ensure long-term data preservation and regulatory compliance. Serves as advisor to institutional leadership on policy, procedures, and practice changes related to document management workflows, data archival processes, and interoperability standards in inpatient and outpatient settings, and attends senior leadership forums. Engages in the development and execution of strategic plans for document management, data archival, and interoperability initiatives to help achieve the mission of empowering healthcare, education, and research partners across the University with digital technology that drives efficiencies, creates value, and improves competitive advantage. Serves as a member of IT Leadership, with organizational impact that contributes to and operationalizes strategy over the mid-term for the complete lifecycle of clinical datafrom active use through long-term preservation (2-3 years).
Essential Functions
Interoperability and Document Management Oversight :
- Acts as an accountable leader for the interoperability and document management team.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to integrate OnBase, RightFax, and clinical data archival strategies with the hospital's and department's strategic plans, using knowledge of current and future clinical applications, HL7 and FHIR standards, HIE connectivity (RRHIO), and Care Everywhere.
- Supports regulatory compliance initiatives, including clinical documentation integrity, MIPS / MACRA reporting, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Collaborates with external partners, including community practices, HIEs, and EHR vendors, to ensure seamless data exchange and connectivity.
- Provides clinical systems analysis and area expertise required to support the implementation of enterprise-wide clinical systems and new business initiatives.
- Uses significant conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation skills to improve upon entire systems or processes.
Stakeholder Engagement and Organizational Impact :
Creates and fosters relationships with relevant clinical, operational, and technical teams, particularly those involved in document workflows, data archival processes, and interoperability initiatives.Collaborates with clinical leadership, including physicians, nurses, and department heads, to optimize document management workflows and ensure seamless integration between OnBase, RightFax, and EHR systems.Partners with compliance and legal teams to ensure clinical data archival solutions meet regulatory requirements and retention policies for long-term data preservation.Works with IT Service Management teams to develop end-to-end change, incident, and problem management processes specific to document management and interoperability systems. Ensures that all incidents affecting document workflows or data archival processes are handled in a timely and appropriate manner and acts as a primary point of escalation during critical incidents.Engages with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement interoperability standards, document management technologies, and archival solutions that support enterprise-wide objectives.Communicate with stakeholders within and outside of one's own area, including executive leadership, clinical departments, and external regulatory bodies, regarding document management policies, interoperability standards, and data archival strategies.Influences others on policies, practices, and procedures within the interoperability and document management domain, particularly in areas such as clinical data lifecycle management, system integration standards, and workflow optimization.Team Leadership :

Make recommendations on employee engagement, motivation, staff retention, and professional growth.Offers resources and assistance when possible to internal Directors and Managers during projects and vacancies. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related field required.or equivalent combination of education and experience3 years of experience with Epic interoperability systems required3 years of progressive experience at a supervisory level in a technology environment requiredExperience in an academic medical center or health system preferredExperience with healthcare data exchange standards preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
