Church Plant Pastor (Part-Time)

The Alliance is a Christ-centered, Acts 1:8 family that is passionate about bringing all of Jesus to all of the world. The Eastern PA District of the Alliance uniquely fulfills this mission by developing Kingdom workers for increasing Gospel impact. As a district we are looking for a disciple-making leader to join our church planting team in South Philadelphia.

As a pastor on the South Philadelphia Church Plant team, you will be a spiritual, strategic, and multiplying leader that helps build a disciple-making community in the city. You will help foster this community to be rooted in the Gospel, to live on faith-filled mission with Jesus, and to develop courageous leaders.

Alongside the Lead Pastor/Church Planter, you will guide the South Philadelphia Church Plant team to be highly focused on disciple making, collaborative, and have a high level of excellence. You are expected to be developmental and creative in your approach to establishing a culture that leads to an effective multiplying work. This will require you to be a Gospel-rooted, evangelistic, and entrepreneurial leader that meets the biblical qualifications of an elder.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and participate in the execution of a church planting strategy that sees a multiplying, disciple-making community born in South Philadelphia
• Personally own and foster in others the values, habits, and stories that create a culture of living with Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and commitment to the mission of Jesus
• Live missionally in the neighborhood where the church is to be located (TBD)
• Clearly and passionately communicate the Gospel in a variety of environments
• Care for the spiritual maturity and development of the church
• Other responsibilities to be determined based on the gifting of the candidate and their fit with the South Philadelphia Church Plant's development plan

Requirements:

• Clear articulation of personal faith in Jesus, demonstrated character qualities of biblical elder, and an affinity for the philosophy of ministry of the South Philadelphia Church Plant (i.e. Gospel development; disciple making)
• Licensed, or willing to be licensed, as an official worker of the Alliance
• Calling and desire to minister in South Philadelphia
• High tolerance for change; team flexibility

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with ministering in multiple cultural contexts, communities, and languages
• Highly strategic, organized, and entrepreneurial with exceptional communication skills
• Established team player, strong relationship builder
• Experience with and passion for relational discipleship
• Jack of all trades or willing to learn; ability to contribute to the team in the areas of outreach, communications, kids/youth, facilities, administration, and finances

Team Dynamics:

• Member of South Philadelphia Church Plant team
• Direct reports to Lead Pastor/Church Planter

Compensation:

• Part-time, open to co-vocation/support options
