Position : Mainframe Systems Programmer Automation Location : 100% Remote Duration : 06+ Months Contract Job Description : As part of Mainframe Automation team, this position will be part of a team focused on accelerating the design and performance of our development of automation, integration into platforms and architectural design of multiple platforms : System Automation and Netview. Key Areas of Focus for this Role : Setting up NetView and SA in a GDPS Environment. Utilize system knowledge and project management skills to design automation for different platforms Engineering solutions to bridge tool capabilities with business requirements for a superior client experience Identify and design solutions that reduce or eliminate the need for human intervention, enabling our teams to focus on problem management tasks by automating corrective steps in response to specific alert types. Deliver solutions using agile development methodology Assess and analyze the performance of the existing tools to identify gaps and opportunities to ensure proactive detection of issues before they become availability-impacting incidents. Other Qualifications : Software development and Programming - Writing and documenting code Programming languages : REXX, Assembler Ansible Framework and Playbooks Code hosting platforms for version control and source code management such as Github Software Development Issue tracking and Agile project management Tools such as Jira or Bugzilla (Scrum and Kanban Boards) Mainframe Operating systems and their sub-components - z / OS, MVS Software packaging and distribution IT Service Management (ITSM) - Approach to delivering IT services IT operations management (ITOM) - Software that handles the tools, environment, and processes for operating such services ITIL Framework - Describes the life cycle of service in detail DevOPS and Agile methodology principles and practices
