Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location : Hastings, NE Agency : Cynet Health Pay : $2,038 per week Shift Information : Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration : 13 Weeks Start Date : 12 / 22 / 2025 About the Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Chest tube experience preferred Pain management experience TPN and CBI experience Wound care experience Description : Department : Medical Surgical Number of beds : 30 private Average patient census : 20 Nurse to patient ratios : 1 : 4-6 Common diagnoses include dementia, post-surgical recovery, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer, and COVID-19. Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Charge nurses will take patients and may work as charge if they have the experience. There are nursing aides on this unit with typical ratios of 2-3 aides. Respiratory therapy equipment, including CPAP, is available. Telemonitoring is present on the floor, with monitor techs available for observation. Shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM. There is no self-scheduling; the unit will work with travelers on block scheduling to accommodate gaps in the schedule. Travelers may be required to work every third weekend, with flexibility expected based on needs. Holiday work will be expected every third holiday, including one inter-winter holiday. There is no call or standby requirement unless a shift off is requested or if a volunteer cancellation occurs. Floating to a PCU is required, which involves taking Med Surgical overflow or very low acuity PCU patients. Dress code is any solid color with no patterns or designs. Orientation includes two days of nursing department orientation and one day on the floor. Cancellation policy allows for client cancellation up to 24 hours prior to the start of a 13-week schedule at no cost. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system.
