The Runner – Valet is responsible for providing a warm and professional welcome to all guests arriving at the property. This position ensures a seamless guest arrival and departure experience by safely parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely manner. The Runner is a front-line representative of the resort, delivering consistent four-star / four-diamond service with a focus on courtesy, safety, and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Greet guests with a warm, friendly demeanor and open vehicle doors upon arrival.
- Assist guests in exiting their vehicles and offer support with directions or information as needed.
- Safely operate, park, and retrieve guest vehicles in designated valet areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while providing service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles efficiently.
- Ensure all interactions reflect four-star / four-diamond service standards. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion with confidential guest or operational information.Must possess a high level of ethical conduct, courtesy, and attention to detail.Ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.Demonstrated commitment to guest satisfaction and hospitality excellence.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or GED preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service, hospitality, or valet-related position preferred.Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Experience driving and parking a variety of vehicle types, including manual transmissions, preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent guest service.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform duties efficiently under pressure.Previous experience in a casino, hotel, or resort setting preferred.LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS :
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

Communication Skills : Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, fellow team members, and supervisors; responsible for retrieving and parking vehicles quickly and safely while providing excellent guest service.Lifting and Carrying : Frequently lifts and carries keys, valet tickets, and small equipment such as radios weighing up to 15 pounds.Manual Dexterity : Regularly uses hands and fingers to handle keys, operate handheld devices, and drive a variety of vehicles, including those with manual transmissions.Mobility : Continuously runs or walks between valet podiums, guest entrances, and parking areas; requires standing, running short distances, bending, and reaching for extended periods, often in outdoor environments.Stationary Work : Rarely remains seated; position involves continuous movement throughout the shift, including transitions between vehicle operation and guest service.Tool Operation : Frequent use of handheld radios, valet ticketing systems, key storage devices, and operation of guest vehicles; must follow all safety protocols when operating equipment and vehicles.Visual Acuity : Requires both near and far vision to read valet tickets, identify vehicles, monitor surrounding traffic, and safely drive and park guest vehicles.Working Conditions : Routinely works outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) with exposure to vehicle emissions, noise, and fast-moving traffic. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino or public areas.WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS :
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
