LPN - Pain Management (m / w / d)

Find your calling at Mercy! The position serves as a lead role within the departments working in conjunction with the practice manager. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner licensed by a State regulatory board to refill medication and assist with treatment. Maintains professional accountability for provision during clinic appointments and patient phone calls. Coordinates the patient care / testing / procedures in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Position Details :

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensure : Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements

Preferred Qualifications :

Certification(s) : NOTE : one or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position / unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe :

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)

S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

IV Certification within 1 year of hire

Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements :

Position requires the ability to push, pull, and / or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
