The DREAMS-4U Participant Engagement Advocate is primarily responsible for providing education, direct services, and case management to program participants in need of relationship building, employment and other positive life skill resources and services. This individual is also responsible for providing intake, assessment, and engagement services to clients.
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct services, navigation services, and case management to program clients in need of relationship building, employment, and other positive life skill resources and services;
- Provide intake, assessment, enrollment, and engagement services to program participants in a timely manner;
- Assist with organizing and teaching curricula classes and workshops on relationship enhancement, budgeting and finances, and complex family relationships;
- Facilitate workshops, family groups and other activities as needed to reinforce curriculum skills, provide resources and support to clients;
- Train and mentor alumni coaches for roles as class leaders, mentors, and workshop leaders;
- Provide community referrals for services related to domestic violence, child maltreatment, and vocational rehabilitation based on needs and family case plan;
- Effectively promote the program to community agencies and organizations;
- Administer case notes and documentation in a timely manner based on guidelines and procedures set forth;
- Provide follow up visits to clients routinely based on program expectations;
- Compile statistical information monthly and conduct follow up surveys by phone, mail, and / or email;
- Meet routinely with supervisor to plan workshops, consult on cases, review case plans and evaluate client progress;
- Attend internal and external trainings to increase knowledge of program content areas, and apply newly gained knowledge on the job;
- Ensure delivery of services in a manner which empowers clients while following licensing regulations and Bethany’s standard of practice;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services, Social Work, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college;At least two (2) years of human service, education or family systems experience;Demonstrated perceptual and diagnostic skills;Ability to use a systematic and long range approach while working with children and families;Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter;Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others;Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills;Strong project management, and organizational skills;Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the to operate a vehicle on behalf
of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a
reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.#LI-CC1
