Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, and operate highly available infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with software engineers, security, and product teams to improve developer productivity, system reliability, and platform scalability. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise as well as the ability to lead initiatives and mentor others.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on GCP
Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform
Develop and maintain CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins to enable fast, reliable deployments
Operate and optimize Docker and containerized workloads
Improve system observability using monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
Lead reliability, performance, and cost-optimization initiatives
Partner with application teams to support cloud-native architecture and best practices
Implement and enforce security best practices (IAM, secrets management, network security)
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, driving post-incident improvements
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps standards and documentation
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Ansible
Experience managing production workloads on Docker
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Strong Linux and networking fundamentals
Experience building and maintaining CI / CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Cloud Build)
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring)
Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud environments
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced SaaS environment
Nice to Have
Experience with multi-region or multi-cloud architectures
Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
Experience with service meshes, autoscaling, and performance tuning
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
Experience supporting high-scale, customer-facing SaaS platforms
