The City of Tucker is seeking an accomplished, strategic, and highly respected financial leader to serve as its Finance Director. This position represents a unique opportunity to steward the City's financial health, guide long-term fiscal planning, and play a central role in shaping the City's continued growth, stability, and success.

Reporting to the Assistant City Manager, the Finance Director serves as the City's Chief Financial Officer and a key member of the executive leadership team. The Finance Director provides comprehensive leadership over the City's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, auditing, treasury and debt management, payroll, purchasing, and long-range financial planning. In this role, the Finance Director works closely with City leadership, department heads, elected officials, and the public to ensure transparency, accountability, and sound financial decision-making.

The City of Tucker is seeking a proven leader who brings deep technical expertise in governmental finance together with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership style. The ideal candidate will be equally adept at setting long-term financial strategy, managing complex financial operations, advising senior leadership, and translating complex financial information into clear and meaningful insights for diverse audiences.

• Change leadership capability, able to assess operations, recommend improvements, and guide teams through reorganization or process changes
• Strong decision-making under pressure, balancing compliance, fiscal responsibility, and organizational priorities in a public-sector environment
• Mentorship-focused management style, fostering accountability, professional development, and high performance within finance and administrative teams
• Ethical judgment and integrity, maintaining public trust through transparency, internal controls, and adherence to regulatory standards

Salary

The hiring range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000.
