Overview
Green Sage Cafe is looking for a dedicated Commissary Cook to join our fun and busy cafe. We are seeking individuals who can uphold the value our company has in preparing healthy and delicious meals by following simple recipes using organic, all-natural, and local ingredients. Our menu satisfies a customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices such as vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, etc. Our Cooks must be team players, respect all staff, prove dependability, and show initiative. Shifts are available between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights are required. There is opportunity for growth within the company for those who wish to excel in their career.
Responsibilities
The Commissary Cook / Driver / Cafe Cook's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Training and knowledge of commissary prep items and recipes per Green Sage standards
- Training, knowledge and safe usage of commissary kitchen equipment to perform all duties
- Prepare bulk prep, bakery and juice items per recipes and proper procedures
- Assemble finished commissary orders for cafe locations correctly and accurately
- Load, deliver and unload commissary deliveries to cafe locations 3 times per week or as needed
- Drive the company van for various errands, store runs, storage unit runs, caterings etc. as needed
- Maintain freshness and sanitation standards at all times per health codes and policies
- Receive and store deliveries using proper rotations and dating procedures
- Set up, breakdown and cleaning of commissary kitchen according to checklists and guidelines
- Assist with periodic inventory counts
- Be cross trained in the cafe to work BOH Line Cook and / or Prep / Dish shifts 2 days a week

Must have open availability and be able to work specifically Mon / Thu / Sat plus 2 other flexible days a weekMust have a clean driving record for the last 5 years and exhibit safe driving skillsMust be very dependable and able to uphold the production and delivery schedule for the companyAbility to work on your feet for six hours or more a dayHigh level of professionalismBasic computer skills using Google sheets and other restaurant management softwareMust be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basisServSafe certification (Recommended)Restaurant : 2 years
