About the Assets Protection Team

Our Assets Protection (AP) teams play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our guests, team members, and brand. They focus on minimizing risks that may lead to losses, including theft and fraud, ensuring that our products are available for everyone. Additionally, they cultivate strong relationships with store leaders, public safety officials, and law enforcement.

The role of a Security Operations Specialist offers you :

  • Hands-on experience with advanced video surveillance systems
  • Proficiency in accurately documenting incidents using case management systems

Typical Responsibilities

As a Security Operations Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities may include :

  • Welcoming guests as they enter the store and creating a positive shopping experience
  • Maintaining a physical security culture by regularly assessing safety standards throughout the store
  • Responding to security incidents and documenting them promptly and accurately
  • Addressing guest concerns to foster a secure environment for all
  • Utilizing de-escalation techniques when managing security incidents
  • Assisting in merchandise theft recoveries while following AP policies
  • Conducting merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft at the front of the store
  • Submitting detailed documentation for all incidents as per AP procedures
  • Operating Target's video surveillance system effectively
  • Promoting ethics, safety, and compliance in all actions
  • Working safely at all times and adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards as necessary
  • Adapting to other duties as needed according to business requirements

    • We provide comprehensive training to help you succeed as a Security Operations Specialist. However, there are some skills you should already possess :

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Compliance with any relevant state or local licensing and legal requirements
  • A friendly and supportive demeanor towards guests and teammates
  • Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate technology as required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Competence in managing your workload and prioritizing tasks
  • Capability to stay focused and composed in a busy setting while completing multiple tasks within deadlines
