Travel Med Lab Tech - Montgomery, AL

An exciting opportunity is available for a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician with at least one year of experience to join a reputable Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL. This travel assignment offers a unique schedule and a chance to work in a well-equipped facility that also houses a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center.

Location: Montgomery, AL

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and analysis in blood bank and chemistry departments (preferred experience).
• Utilize EMR systems such as Cerner to maintain accurate records.
• Operate laboratory instruments including Sakura tissue processors, Benchmark Ultras, and Ventana H&E stainers.
• Follow protocols for specimen processing with manual microtomes.
• Participate in a thorough orientation process, including both general and lab-specific trainings.
• Maintain high standards for accuracy, safety, and compliance in a medical laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification required; Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician qualifications considered.
• Minimum one year of applicable laboratory experience.
• Preferred skills in blood bank and chemistry lab work.
• Ability to work varied shifts and adapt to a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule.

Schedule/Hours:

• 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
• Shift: 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• 40 hours per week, day shift options from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM may also be available
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
