Job Description

Job Description
Description:Night CLS – Sunday to Thursday, 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Life Supervisor (CLS) is a full-time, non-exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM). The purpose of the CLS position is to provide direct oversight of the Community Life Coordinator (CLC) and Clinical Support Specialist (CSS) in facilities located in Northern Colorado which currently include Fort Colins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm. The shifts may vary due to facility needs. CLS will be required to work at any facility in Northern Colorado to ensure adequate coverage. Schedules are subject to change based on organizational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Administrative Duties

  • (Shelter sites only) Ensure all necessary supplies are stocked to support daily operations, this includes cleaning supplies, linens, towels, mats, mattresses, and furniture.
  • Coordinate with the DRM Maintenance Department to address facility maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Review and approve timecards for all CLC and overnight CSS staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Serve as the facility’s designated Safety Coordinator or assign an appropriate team member. Participate in DRM’s Safety Council and collaborate with Operations staff from other sites to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure daily guest statistics are entered accurately into both SCRIBE and HMIS systems.
  • (Winter Seasonal Overflow Shelter) Oversee the setup, daily operations, and closure of the winter shelter location. This includes collaborating with People & Culture to hire, onboard, and train CLC staff, as well as ensuring full compliance with city regulations related to shelter operations and guest safety.

Harvest Farm–Specific Responsibilities:

  • Regularly observe and document medication administration to ensure compliance with prescribed schedules.
  • Verify that each individual receives the correct medication, in the appropriate dose, via the correct method, and at the right time.
  • Work in collaboration with Harvest Farm Associate Director to ensure a cohesive working environment between program staff and overnight Clinical Support Specialists.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and operations of the facility.

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Support and guide the CLC team in the consistent use of de-escalation techniques when addressing challenging guest behavior. Regularly track staff participation in Decoding Conflict training to ensure readiness and growth in this area.
  • Ensure that CLCs/overnight CSSs appropriately oversee guests exiting the facility, maintaining adherence to neighborhood agreements and applying the “Asked to Leave” protocol when necessary.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of and commitment to organizational policies and procedures, ensuring they are followed consistently across all facilities and services.
  • Oversee cleanliness and order throughout facility interiors—including common areas, meeting rooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices—by ensuring personal belongings are removed, trash is disposed of, and regular cleaning schedules are followed.
  • (Shelter sites only) Monitor the perimeter of shelter facilities to discourage loitering, encampments, and other disruptions, within legal limits. Report any campsite concerns to the Hope Team for follow-up.
  • (Shelter sites only) Ensure clean bedding and towels are consistently available for guest use, maintaining high standards of hygiene and dignity.

Supervision of Staff

  • Provide direct supervision and support to CLC/overnight CSS staff across all facilities during your assigned shift. Communicate any concerns or issues promptly to the Director.
  • In collaboration with the Director and People & Culture, assist in hiring and onboarding new staff. Ensure new team members receive thorough training and a welcoming introduction to their roles.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all facilities during assigned shifts. Provide direct operational support as needed to ensure program continuity and guest safety.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with CLC/overnight CSS staff to support their job performance, provide guidance, and encourage their professional growth.
  • Complete 90-day and annual performance evaluations for team members. Address any performance concerns using the Progressive Disciplinary process, in coordination with the Director and People & Culture.
