Avani Healthcare West is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Bronx, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

Role : Registered Nurse - PACU

Location : Bronx, NY

Shift :  10 - hour Evening shift (1pm to 11pm)

Duration : 13 weeks

Schedule : 40 hours per week / 4 days

Responsibilities & Duties :

  • Monitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness post-surgery
  • Administer medications for pain management and other post-operative care
  • Assess patients for signs of post-operative complications and intervene as necessary
  • Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient status, treatments, and clinical findings accurately
  • Prepare patients for discharge once they meet the required criteria
  • Implement infection control measures
  • Assist with patient transfers to appropriate care units
  • Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the PACU
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families
  • Operate and monitor medical equipment used in post-operative care
  • Ensure proper patient identification and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated with best practices

    • Requirements :

  • Minimum 2+ years of PACU experience – Required
  • Must have EPIC experience
  • Weekends and holidays as need
  • BLS; ACLS – Required
  • NY State RN License – Required
