Maintenance Associate

Job Title : Maintenance Associate, Full-time (40 hrs / wk)

Classification : Hourly / Nonexempt

Overview

St. Joseph School is looking for a Full-time Maintenance Associate who will work with the maintenance staff to complete all aspects of maintenance for school and parish buildings and property.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks of the buildings and grounds to ensure trash / debris is picked up from common areas and grounds ensuring the area is presentable and always inviting.
• General maintenance / carpentry of walls, doors, windows, carpet, tile, caulk, and paint where needed.
• Set up for events and meetings.
• Secure all buildings on campus at the end of the day.
• Electrical : perform all minor repairs such as outlets, switches, light bulbs, and fixtures.
• Air Conditioning : replace belts, filters and thermostats as needed.
• Plumbing : repair minor water leaks, replace faucets, open drains as needed.
• Custodial duties as needed throughout the day.
• Other tasks as determined by Maintenance Director / Principal.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to communicate clearly with vendors, staff & parishioners.
• Working knowledge of building equipment.
• Understanding of safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, reach throughout day.
• Valid drivers license.
• Must pass background check, including Fingerprint (FDLE Level 2).
• Must pass a post offer DOV assigned physical exam.
