Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Set up and operate equipment and fixtures to perform cutting, buffing, bending, punching, spot welding, milling, and assembly.
- Proper selection of tooling, die and punch settings/adjustments, manual programming short runs and special jobs.
- Arrange, mount and secure tooling. Mount/align/secure holding fixtures or locate/support/secure work piece in absence of fixture. Set stops and calibrate fixture to appropriate reference points.
- Manual cycle machine through operator sequence to check fixture/work positions, tooling, clearances, speeds and feeds.
- Make frequent adjustments, calibrations and recalibrations to various machines to ensure safe and quality operations.
- Assemble parts to order/drawing requirements.
- Assist other operators when needed.
- Equipment care and basic maintenance.
- Monitor various CNC machines and machining centers.
- Monitor Wire EDM Machines (Resolving any machine problems that you would occur when running the EDM)
- Perform regular PM to the Wire EDM machines.
- Edit and Write EDM programs,
- Recognize report and correct errors. Record production deviations and other notations as necessary to produce and improve a quality product.
- Work from detailed/involved part drawings and specs.
- Perform ongoing quality checks on parts produced to ensure compliance with established drawing and specifications.
- Work with production supervisor and other personnel in a cooperative and collaborative manner to expedite orders within the department in a cost-effective manner.
- Hold precise tolerances per specifications on drawings.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3 to 5 years progressive manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and utilize technical information.
- Read and understand shop orders and blueprints.
- Read and use inspection and measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, protractor and ruler)
Language Skills
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Industrial math skills
Reasoning Ability
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
