System Engineer / Migration Engineer

Location : Fort Mill, SC 29715 (Hybrid)

Type : Contract

Box Shuttle is mandatory

Job Description

The Migration Engineer will participate in the planning, design, and execution of email and data migration initiatives during large acquisitions. This role provides technical support for migrating email to Exchange Online and migrating data from external sources into Box. Experience with Box Shuttle is mandatory , as it will be a core component of the data migration process. The role requires strong expertise in Exchange Online, internet email systems, DNS, and enterprise-grade migration tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the migration of mailboxes from multiple external sources into one or more managed Exchange Online tenants.
  • Utilize Box Shuttle to migrate data from external repositories into a centralized, managed Box instance.
  • Support the planning and execution of migration processes while ensuring minimal disruption to users and business operations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess existing mailbox configurations and define migration requirements.
  • Provide escalation support to end-users during migrations, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Document migration procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  • Assist the Data Migration team as needed to support additional Box-related or cross-platform migration tasks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, including mailbox migration.
  • Demonstrated experience with Box Shuttle for large-scale data migrations (mandatory).

    • Core Competencies

  • Experience with ProofPoint Email Protection and a strong understanding of DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
  • Experience using BitTitan MigrationWiz for mailbox migrations to Exchange Online.
  • Experience with Box migration tools, especially Box Shuttle.
