Description : Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting all logistical functions related to products and machines shipped by freight. This role ensures accurate shipment processing, maintains documentation, communicates with customers and carriers, and helps investigate and resolve shipping-related issues. The position requires strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Coordination
- Coordinate all transportation of goods shipped by freight, including obtaining shipment rate quotes and negotiating carrier rates.
- Enter new orders into applicable systems and schedule shipping dates per company guidelines and customer SOPs.
- Serve as the main point of contact for carriers, internal departments, and customers regarding shipment status, change orders, and delivery updates.
Documentation & Data Integrity
Verify shipment accuracy and spot-check transportation documents to ensure compliance and data integrity.Pull, organize, and file shipping paperwork for issue investigation.Maintain and update product and machine inventory using Excel spreadsheets.Claims & Issue Resolution
File freight claims in a timely manner for damaged or lost product.Track claim progress and ensure proper follow-through.Research and coordinate re-shipments for misrouted or delayed parcels.Investigate shipping errors and provide corrective follow-up.Regulatory Compliance
Comply with all applicable HACCP and OSHA guidelines.Follow company SOPs and customer-specific SOPs for all shipments.Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned to support the logistics and operations team.Requirements : Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.1–2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or related field preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).Experience with freight carriers, BOLs, or logistics systems preferred.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
