The Highlights : The Sue Gin Scholarship Program (SGSP) Associate Director for Scholarship Success Initiatives plays a vital role within the leadership and organizational structure of the Office of Multicultural Student Success (OMSS). This position advances the University's mission by supporting the retention, success, and engagement of donor-funded scholarship recipients. In addition, the Associate Director ensures the effective execution of the Sue Gin Scholarship Program and Gift Agreement, elevating their impact while fostering academic excellence, leadership development, and student success.

The SGSP Associate Director serves as the primary care specialist and campus responder to Sue Gin Scholarship awardees. The Associate Director collaborates closely with partners across Financial Aid, Admissions, Housing & Residence Life, Career Services, Donor-Relations, and Mission & Ministry to ensure wraparound support for the Sue Gin scholarship cohort. The SGSP Associate Director provides direct supervision and leadership support to the Assistant Director for Scholarship Success and team of graduate-level professionals that will help ensure the success of the program and participants within.

What You'll Do :

  • Case Management : Manage the inaugural Sue Gin Scholarship student portfolio, serving as the primary internal care specialist for donor-funded scholarship recipients. Coordinate an institutional support team that includes representatives from the Office of Financial Aid, Admissions, Housing & Residence Life, the Career Center, ACE, and Mission and Ministry. Oversight of important processes related to the Sue Gin Scholarship Program such as recruitment, selection, campus visits, orientation, coaching, and specialized programming. Support the management of escalated student cases and serve as a crisis responder as part of their core responsibilities.
  • Supervision : Provide direct supervision and managerial support to the Assistant Director for Scholarship Success, a team of eight part-time graduate-level professionals and leadership support to a team of student employees and interns. Managerial responsibilities include BlueSky approvals, staff development, operations management and compliance.
  • Assessment and Project Management : Responsible for the development, facilitation and assessment of both external and internal donor-funded scholar’s programs. Responsible for developing quarterly academic performance and engagement reports as requested by members of the Advancement and Donors Relations Team. Responsible for the quarterly maintenance of student data and reports.
  • Budget and Operations Management : Shared responsibility in the oversight of the following OMSS department cost-centers, OMSS department budget, Scholarship Spendable and Endowment funds and Emergency Support funds. Responsible for the oversight of direct reports purchasing and reconciliation compliance. Assist with OMSS department operations and establish customer service standards.

What You'll Need :

  • Provide direct supervision and managerial support to the Assistant Director for Scholarship Success, a team of eight part-time graduate-level professional, and provide leadership support to a team of student employees and interns.
  • Shared responsibility in the oversight of approximately $100,000 across various types of accounts.
  • Responsible for the oversight of direct reports purchasing and reconciliation compliance.
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or related field of study, required.
  • 3 - 5 years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision and advising, particularly with students that are more likely to face adversity.
  • Proven ability to provide advocacy, crisis management, and care response for students.
  • Skilled in program evaluation, assessment, and research to measure impact and implement best practices.
  • Strong data management and reporting skills; ability to make data-informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and experience implementing high-impact practices.
  • Commitment to resource stewardship, including financial, human, and operational resources.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • This is an in-person position with flexibility for alternative work modalities when operations allow.

  • Director, to provide scholars personalized coaching and mentorship to assist with goal setting, academic
  • progress, and guidance on university resources.

  • This position is funded through the Sue Gin Endowed Student Success Directorship Fund (780708).
  • The anticipated hiring range for this position is : $56,222 to $70,000 annually.  The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
