As a Software Engineer III, you are a high-impact individual contributor who designs and ships major components that uplift the reliability and operability of our trading systems. You'll own meaningful slices of our observability stack, readiness tooling, and incident workflows - partnering closely with Cloud Platform and product teams to turn best practices into paved operational paths

Trading Platform Operations is the engineering force-multiplier that keeps our trading systems observably performant, production-hardened, and event-ready - especially during peak sporting moments. You'll lead architecture and delivery for reliability and operational tooling across the trading stack, unifying telemetry, resilience, and readiness so product teams can move fast with confidence

You Will :

• Design & build durable components for telemetry, alerting, and diagnostics (dashboards, SLO / SLA reporting, trace pipelines).
• Harden production paths : rollout / rollback strategies, safe deploy mechanics, canaries, guardrails, and incident runbooks.
• Implement load / chaos tests and capacity signals that validate event readiness before peak traffic.
• Automate routine ops with scripts / services (remediation tasks, data snapshots, feature flag flips); contribute to IaC modules when needed
• Collaborate & review-participate in design / code reviews, improve documentation, and mentor earlier-career engineers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring platform stability and providing critical support for operational incidents.
• Occasionally travel for essential offsite meetings, special events, or collaborative team sessions.

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states : AL, AZ, GA, IA, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WV . Alternatively, we are open to a hybrid role based in Denver, CO .

About the Team

Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
