Salary :
The Pricing and Cost Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining pricing strategies that optimize profitability while remaining competitive in the market. This role involves evaluating cost structures, performing financial modeling, and providing insights that guide pricing decisions and cost efficiency initiatives.
The analyst works closely with finance, sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost data and strategic alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor product, service, and operational costs to identify areas for improvement and savings.
- Develop, review, and maintain pricing models based on cost, market conditions, and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to create pricing proposals and quotations for customers.
- Conduct margin analysis to assess the profitability of existing and new business opportunities.
- Prepare detailed cost-benefit and break-even analyses for management decisions.
- Evaluate freight rates, supplier costs, and logistics expenses to ensure accuracy and cost control (for logistics / shipping environments).
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes with cost and pricing data.
- Create regular reports on pricing trends, competitor pricing, and market shifts.
- Maintain databases and ensure data integrity for pricing and cost information.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management for pricing strategies or adjustments.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.Masters degrees preferred in related field.35 years of experience in pricing analysis, cost accounting, or financial analysis required.Experience in logistics, shipping, or transportation preferred.Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar analytical tools.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Workday) is a plus.Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex data sets.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial insights to non-financial audiences.Core Competencies
