QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as an administrative assistant.
- Knowledge of key computer components and operation
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Able to meet and deal with the public in a positive manner
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for all assigned responsibilities
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board of education may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO : Building Administrator
JOB GOAL : To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of students can be realized
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Prepare and submit state reporting.Maintain the building master calendar and NHS building calendar.Process, distribute, create and maintain facility use permits for school events.Assist staff, students, parents and teachers with data questions and problems within the student information system.Review student attendance weekly in order to prepare and send truancy letters.Assist in providing a smooth operation within the office / building.Greet and assist visitors to the building.Prepare and distribute out of school suspension and expulsion packets.Assist staff members absence and timesheet information.Prepare, schedule and send mass communication to parents.Plan and organize events.Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.Performs other duties as may be assigned by the building administrator for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Wage and length of employment to be established by the board of education.
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
