Medical Cardiology opening - Somerset, PA Located in Southwest PA, 70m to PittsburghJ1 / H1b Eligible Position details - Full-time, permanent- Hospital employee- Department currently employees two full time cardiologists, two of which are non-invasive cardiology and one physician who is interventional cardiology. - There are two physician assistants currently at the practice, one full-time and one part-time, with a third full-time position in process of being added due to volume increase. - An EP also sees patients at the clinic one day per week and performs procedures- The practice runs a pacemaker clinic once weekly- Practice located across the street allowing for very easy access for going between the inpatient and outpatient settings. - Non-invasive cardiologists rotate weekly between inpatient and outpatient services and are supplemented by the physician assistants. - Hospital services consist of rounding / consults, TEE procedures, stress tests, echoes, and EKGs. - Medical call is divided among the non-invasive cardiologists with some supplementation by locums for weekend coverage. - Physician assistants provide some weekend rounding as well.- The interventional cardiologist is well-known throughout the region for his exemplary care and has been with the practice since 2016. - The medical cardiologists have both been with the practice since 2019. - Both physician assistants have been with the practice for several years working under the guidance of the Cardiology physician team. - The outpatient practice is currently using Epic as their EMR system. - The hospital is currently using Paragon Allscripts, with a planned transition to Epic in the future Location Details - Located in Somerset County, which is an outdoor enthusiasts dream.- Home to three of the top ski resorts in the eastern U.S.- The Great Allegheny Passage, which is part of the 334-mile rails-to-trails project connecting Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C., runs through Somerset County.- There are numerous cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobile trails throughout the county, as well as a multitude of mountain bike trails.- There are ample opportunities for whitewater rafting, paddleboarding, and kayaking.- Somerset County is home to several golf courses, ranging from nine-hole community courses to PGA-rated resort courses.- In addition to the outdoor scene, Somerset County also has numerous fairs and festivals that celebrate the culture of the area.
