Special Education Teacher – New Haven, CT

Hourly Compensation: Up to $50/hr | Full-Time

Connected Health Care is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work in a New Haven, CT. This position offers an opportunity to help students build essential academic and social skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction in math, reading, and writing for students with IEPs and learning disabilities.

• Modify and differentiate the general education curriculum to ensure accessibility for students with diverse needs.

• Implement individualized behavior and classroom management plans.

• Work closely with paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure students receive the best possible support.

• Use data-driven teaching strategies to assess and improve student progress.

• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with general education teachers and parents to advocate for student needs.

• Utilize technology and hands-on activities to keep students engaged in learning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification required.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Experience working with students and mild-to-moderate disabilities.

• Knowledge of IEP writing, accommodations, and progress monitoring.

• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
