Job Description

Primary Duties / Responsibilities :

• Maintaining clean work areas and equipment, clean machinery areas under the control of the Watchkeeping Engineer.
• Assisting Engineers and Deck Engineer (where carried) during repairs and maintenance of equipment.
• Performing other mechanical duties as directed by the Watchkeeping Engineer.
• Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel's Muster List / Station Bill.
• Ensuring that daily activities and the activities of other crew members are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.
• Complete other duties and / or projects as required and assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education / Training : The Motorman shall hold a USCG Merchant Mariner's Credential.

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience as motorman, preferably on an offshore marine vessel; or recognized mechanical institution.

Skills : Able to speak and understand English.

Special Requirements :

Decision Making : The Motorman co-ordinates with any persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
